Light Disaster Squadron Seagull Rescue Convention | Bacolod City

I flew again this year to Bacolod City for our Seagull Rescue Convention held last December 1-3. I booked my flight a day earlier so I could still have time to rest.

December 1, Day 1 – Amazing Race
I was first to arrive before the other chapters. All of them took an early morning flight so they went straight to the venue with their uniforms and tactical pants on. We registered before the Race started. There were only two of us from the Dagupan Chapter. Rhyza was sick and I thought I’d be the only one to represent our chapter. Good thing, Deej from Novaliches Chapter was left behind by his two other team mates and we get to be a team duo – Dagupan/Novaliches Team. Some teams like Mandaluyong, Montalban, Pasig, Quezon City, Cebu consist of 4-7 members.

We changed our clothes to gear up for the race. We then given instructions and maps to locate our next stops. The whole race was at the Lagoon (Provincial Capitol), church, City Plaza, Rizal Public School, Bago Bridge (where we rapeled and crossed the raging river), and a hike to Wasay among others.

December 2, Day 2 – Hiking and Tree Planting
We went tree planting in the morning and hiked from Mambukal’s 7th Falls to its 1st Falls. We rested after lunch and had time for de.partypoker It’s been a very strenuous 2 days of the convention and at the same time fun!

December 3, Day 3 – Bazaar, Training and Social Night
Everyone traveled back to Bacolod for the Bazaar. Each chapter brought different products to sell. In the afternoon a training was given. Social night started at 6pm – Dinner, dance and awarding which I waited for them to announce who won the Amazing Race. Guess who won the Race? It’s me and Deej! We finished the race assignments within 8 hours and 9 minutes. Hooray!

This convention was an unforgettable event. Full of adventure, fun and friendship. Love for nature and for our neighbors. Ready to serve, ready to save. So others may live. Looking forward for the next Convention.
