The ancient filipino script (writing)Â was called ‘baybayin’ and was later on called ‘alibata’ by Dean Paul Versoza of the University of Manila in 1914 that came from the arabic letters of Maguindanao dialect which are ‘alif’, ‘ba’ and ‘ta’.
